Regency Palms,
Palm Desert
The new owners wanted to reimagine and refresh their home’s landscape while preserving its desert canyon character — with just enough drama to turn heads from the street. As committed stewards of the land, they envisioned a landscape that would be climate-responsive, low-water, and planted entirely with desert-adapted species — a garden rooted in its environment both ecologically and visually.
This landscape renovation brings clarity, rhythm, and modern restraint to a classic Spanish Mission-style home.
The result is a desert-modern landscape that is both visually compelling and ecologically grounded — a cohesive, low-maintenance garden designed to evolve beautifully over time with seasonal interest and minimal water use.

This front yard renovation brought clarity and rhythm to what had previously been a visually scattered space. By editing the existing landscape and introducing strong vertical elements like California fan palms, statement agaves, and curated groupings of low desert plants, we created a sense of flow and spaciousness.
The design emphasizes bold form and clean spacing, allowing each specimen to stand on its own while contributing to a cohesive whole. Golden barrel cactus and silver agaves punctuate the gravel field with sculptural contrast, while the existing olive tree anchors the composition.

This front walkway was thoughtfully reimagined to complement the home's vibrant turquoise doors and warm architectural tones. All plantings in this space were newly installed or selectively edited, bringing clarity and cohesion to an area that had previously lacked structure.
To ground the towering cacti and create mid-level structure, we introduced a sculptural layer of yuccas, aloes, and desert-adapted succulents. This added depth and helped balance the vertical scale, enhancing the canyon-like feel of the poolside garden.
A band of smooth river rock runs through the composition as a visual metaphor for a dry arroyo, softening the hardscape and reinforcing the connection to desert geology and movement.
Palms, agaves, silver-foliage sages, and grasses bring rhythm and fluidity, creating a layered, climate-appropriate planting that feels both structured and alive. The result is a clean-lined, modern desert garden that’s both grounded and expressive.
